Thank You

From all of us at Elk Grove Food Bank Services
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors, donors, dedicated volunteers and nearly 1,000 participants. Thank you for joining your friends and neighbors in the fight against hunger here in our “local” community.  On what turned out to be a gorgeous morning at Elk Grove Regional Park, you showed what true community and compassion are all about.  Thank you for making a tremendous difference for those in need.
We look forward to seeing you next year at the 13th Annual Run 4 Hunger!
With thanks and appreciation,
Marie Jachino
Executive Director

2017 EGRun4Hunger
Run/Walk – 5K & 10K
Saturday, June 24th, 2017

Elk Grove Food Bank Services continues to fight hunger in the south county area with our 13th Annual EGRun4Hunger, 10K & 5K Run/Walk and Kids Run on June 24, 2017.

Each year families, businesses, organizations, and runners come together to share in this Elk Grove tradition to raise awareness and critical funds for local hunger relief. Your support provides food, clothing, education and a “serving of hope” to over 4,500 individuals each month who turn to EGFBS for help. This year, with food insecurity increasing, the Food Bank expects to serve a record number of men, women and children.

The funds raised at this event will benefit the six programs of the Elk Grove Food Bank Services; 94% of all donated dollars goes directly to programs and services.

In addition, individuals that wish to support HART (Homeless Assistance Resource Team, a nonprofit organization that assists the homeless in Elk Grove toward self-sufficiency and greater independence), may select to have a portion of their proceeds go to HART upon registering.

We are looking forward to increasing the number of runners this year.

Fill the need

Fill the hope

Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS) was founded in 1974. Since its inception, the EGFBS has distributed over 4,543,000 meals or approximately 7,522,000 pounds of food within the community.

The Food Bank has changed over the years and continues to adapt to the needs of individuals we serve. Our mission is to provide essential resources to overcome the many faces of hunger and human need and remains unchanged.

A recognized non-profit leader, the EGFBS is the only food bank serving the community, providing free food, clothing and social services. It originally started from a food closet at a local church by the Elk Grove Ministerial Association.
